Job Description: Aerospace Engineering - Aircraft Systems Engineer
Position Overview:
The Aircraft Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining efficient and reliable aircraft systems. This role requires deep knowledge of aerospace engineering principles, as well as expertise in various aircraft systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and avionics. The Aircraft Systems Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety standards, performance requirements, and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and integrate aircraft systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
2. Conduct thorough system analysis, including risk assessment, performance evaluation, and failure mode analysis, to ensure optimal system functionality.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including aerodynamics, structures, and avionics, to ensure successful integration of systems.
4. Create detailed engineering specifications, schematics, and technical documentation for aircraft systems.
5. Conduct feasibility studies and provide recommendations on system modifications or upgrades to improve performance, safety, and efficiency.
6. Perform system verification and validation tests, analyzing and interpreting test data to identify and resolve any issues or deficiencies.
7. Manage and oversee system integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities during the aircraft development process.
8. Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of quality components and systems.
9. Stay updated with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to aircraft systems design and integration.
10. Provide technical support and expertise to resolve complex system-related issues during aircraft manufacturing, testing, and operation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience in aircraft systems engineering, including design, integration, and troubleshooting.
3. Strong knowledge of aerospace engineering principles, aircraft systems, and their interdependencies.
4. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering analysis tools.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex system-related issues.
6. Solid understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in aerospace engineering.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
8. Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Familiarity with system safety analysis techniques, such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
10. Knowledge of industry-standard software tools for system modeling, simulation, and analysis.
11. Ability to stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and advancements in aerospace engineering and aircraft systems.
